چکیده

This study investigated the removal of vanadium from mining waters at a closed mine site (Mustavaara, Finland) using granular ferric oxyhydroxide (CFH-12) on pilot scale. Two filter systems, A and B, were placed in different streams, where influent contained higher very variable concentration (6.46–99.1 mg/L), while B treated had lower concentrations (0.443–2.33 mg/L). The operation periods 51 days for 127 B. Water quality analyses revealed that was efficiently captured system both pilots. X-ray fluorescence analysis beds not fully saturated with vanadium. photoelectron spectroscopy confirmed oxidised (5+) existed used CFH-12 carbon content material increased due to adsorbed organic compounds. For comparison, lab-scale coagulation experiments conducted sulphate (the sampled batch 15.9 mg/L V). optimum coagulant dosage 350 (> 93% removal) original pH (7.8–7.9) influent, whereas required amount decreased when adjusted 4.6–4.8.

Treatment of small scale gold mining wastewater using pilot-scale sedimentation and Cocopeat filter bed system

The use of amalgamation process to recover gold from mined ores by the small-scale gold miners in the Philippines and other developing countries produces and dispose of untreated wastewater to the receiving water bodies. In this study, a field-scale filter bed system was constructed to treat heavy metal metal-laden wastewater collected from small-scale gold mining site in Paracale, Camarines No...

Preparation of Nanochitosan as an Effective Sorbent for the Removal of Copper Ions from Aqueous Solutions

The most important pollutants in wastewater are heavy metal ions. In this paper, the effects of various parameters such as pH, contact time, initial concentration, and temperature on the adsorption of Cu (II) by nanochitosan (NCS) was investigated in batch experiment. Nanochitosan was prepared based on ionic gelation and characterized by means of Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR),...

Laboratory pilot scale study for H2S removal from biogas in an anoxic biotrickling filter.

The purpose of this laboratory pilot scale study at the Wastewater Technology Centre (WTC), Environment Canada, Burlington, ON was to investigate the anaerobic biological removal of H2S from biogas under real-time operating conditions. Biogas produced in a 538 litre pilot anaerobic digester was continuously fed into a 12 litre biotrickling filter containing plastic fibres as packing bed media. ...

Removal of Direct Red 81 from Aqueous Solution Using an Acidic Soil Containing Iron (Case Study of Lahijan Soil)

Direct Red 81, a dye widely used in textile industries, is frequently detected dye in water resources. High costs, the formation of hazardous byproducts, and high energy costs restrict the use of some removal methods. Therefore, the main objectives of this research are the feasibility of using soil containing iron as a low cost adsorbent to remove (Direct Red 81) from aqueo...

The Removal of As(V) from Drinking Waters by Coagulation Process using Iron Salts

In this study arsenate [As(V)] removal from drinking water by coagulation process was investigated. Ferric chloride (FeCl3.6H2O) and ferrous sulfate (FeSO4.7H2O) were used as coagulant. The effects of major operating variables such as coagulant dose (1–30 mg/L) and pH (5.5–9.5) were investigated. Ferric chloride and ferrous sulfate were found as effective and reliable coagulant due to required ...
